WOOSTER – Majel C. SECHRIST, 100, of Wooster, died Monday, April 7, 2008 in West View Manor Nursing Home.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill Street, Wooster, OH, 1 hour prior to the 2:00 P.M. service on Thursday, April 10, 2008 with the Rev. Dr. David Wilcox officiating. Interment will follow in the Congress Cemetery.
Those who wish may make contributions to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne Co., 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 in her memory.
Born June 13, 1907 in West Salem, OH, she was the daughter of Merton and Minola Palmer Ruff.
She was an Elementary teacher for Congress, Lodi and Westfield Center retiring in 1974. Member of the Wooster United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ruth Circle. Also a member of the Retired teachers of Ohio, Classics Club, English Club and the Pleasant Home Garden Club.
Surviving are her children John (Katherine) Sechrist of Mountain Brook, AL and Judy (Duane) Butler of Wooster; grandchildren Eric (Kim) Butler and Doug Butler both of Wooster and great-grandchildren Logan, Mark and David Butler of Wooster and Jennasis Butler of Wellington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Sechrist, in 1975 whom she married in October of 1937 and a sister Marjean Grube.
