WOOSTER Manuel F. Manny Nunez, 78, of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born January 24, 1941 in Akron, the son of Horatio and Mary Nunez. He married Karen Love on September 14, 2006. She survives.
He had been employed for 41 years as a welder at East Manufacturing in East Randolph. Manny was a member of the Mohican Church of the Brethren. He loved Bluegrass and going to festivals, building things and watching the Cleveland Indians. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by his children, Manuel II (Anita) Nunez, Renee (Jim) Corbett, Michelle Jurnak, Roger (Grace) Love, Brian (Allison) Love and Susan (Jeff) Topoleski; grandchildren, Manuel Nunez, III, Hannah Nunez, Bryan Love, Tabatha Love, Christopher Topoleski, Max Topoleski, Jake Love and a great-granddaughter, Faylyn Love; his siblings, Roberta (Gerald) Schoolcraft, Gloria Herron, Gracinda (Ira) Sams, Juana Winkler, Aurora Metzger and John (DeeDee) Nunez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Carol Nunez, his siblings, Horace Pedro, Laura Andrews, Zita Brown, Elvira Elliot and brothers-in-law Raymond Winkler, Keith Herron, Sr., Jim Elliot and Chuck Metzger.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mohican Church of the Brethren, 7759 N. Elyria Rd., West Salem with Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
