NEWARK – Margaret M. Grandma Darlin Gisinger, 94, of Newark and formerly of Wooster, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Flint Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center in Newark.
She was born April 7, 1922 in Gilstrap, Kentucky, the daughter of Estill and Lydia Smith Daugherty.   She married Robert G. Gisinger on July 5, 1946.   He preceded her in death in 1999.
Margaret and her husband were co-owners of Gisinger Drilling and other small businesses throughout the years.   In WWII she was employed doing electrical wiring on airplanes.   She was a member of the White Shrine, Eastern Star, Venus Chapter #76 and the Oriental Shrine.   She enjoyed watching soap operas.
Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis (Michael) Van Dyke of Newark and a son, Theodore G. (Peggy) Gisinger of Wooster; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred McFarland and Ruby Mizer both of Wooster and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Robert H. Gisinger and Michael T. Gisinger and 8 brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 5-8:00 p.m.
Services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David Crist officiating.   Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, OH 43056 or to the funeral home to help with expenses.
