Marjorie L. Hochstetler, age 90, was called to her eternal home on June 5, 2020 at Brookdale Wooster.
She was born in Wooster, Ohio on September 14, 1929 to Dan D. and Mary Grady Silver. She married John J. Hochstetler in 1949. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2020.
Marjorie was a devoted and loving wife, and homemaker. She was also a dedicated volunteer at Wooster Community Hospital for 50 years. Marjorie was a member of the Eastern Star, and loved spending her summer months watching her grandchildren. Her favorite hobby was baking.
Marjorie is survived by her children: Tom Hochstetler (Cherie Redfern) of Wooster, Susan (Martin) Dawson of Fountain Hills, Arizona, Nancy (Bob) Banchero of Denver, Co. and Dan (Sherry) Hochstetler of O’Fallon, Missouri; grandchildren – Rachael, Jon, Ryan, Tara, Christopher, Shannon, Michael, Justin and Robin and great-grandchildren – Gabby, Riley, Sydney, Grant, Mason, James, Ava, Finnley, and Charlotte; and her sister Sue Silver of Wooster.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Brookdale Wooster and Lifecare Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice or to any charitable organization of your choice. There will be no calling hours or services at this time though in her memory, you may choose to carry forth God’s love and compassion toward others as Marjorie would consider that the best memorial for now and always.

Thinking of your families during this difficult time. I met and got to know Marjorie while working in the Laboratory at Wooster Hospital for many years. Marjorie was one of the handful of volunteers that I had contact with each time they volunteered. In addition to being a lovely person she was passionate about volunteering. When there was a special event you knew Marjorie would be one to volunteer to help. Her commitment to Wooster Community Hospital was very much appreciated by many of the employees.
