MaryAnn Ludowese, 91 years old, passed away peacefully at her apartment on July 7, 2020 with her therapy cat, Mittens by her side.
MaryAnn was born on March 2, 1929 in Stearns County, Minnesota to parents Edward C. and Louise Geisen Silvers. She was raised in Minnesota. On September 8, 1951, MaryAnn married M.F. Buck Ludowese and together, they had four children. They were married for over 60 years.
MaryAnn was an active member of Saint Mary Church in Wooster for many years. She worked for Wayne/Medina Community Action until the age of 79. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling, golf, bridge and yoga.
She is survived by her children Marc, Joe (LaVonda), Rick (Debbie) and Kathy. Proud grandmother to Jackie (Andrew Smith), Krista, Jason, Nick and Ben and the great grandchildren Lochlan and Delaney. Also survived by siblings Verena Lund and Norbert (Elaine) Silvers as well as sisters-in-law Vivian Geurts and Bernie Silvers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Buck, her parents and a brother Eddie.
Beloved daughter, sister, spouse, mother, grandparent and friend. MaryAnn faced challenges with hard work, spirituality and grace. She will be greatly missed and remain forever in the hearts of those that loved her.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her angel, Margarita Ferguson for her superb care of our mother.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held and she will be laid to rest next to Buck at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Our friendship began while being members of Mission Circle #13 at St Mary’s in Wooster.

I enjoyed working with MaryAnn for many years at Community Action. We had many great conversations and went on several business trips together. I remember a trip to Las Vegas when her suitcase got lost and I drove her to Kmart to get something to wear the next day to the meetings and all they had were track suits. We had a laugh over that. After Buck retired, she convinced him to join my book group and he became our resident historian, much to all of our benefit. I’m always telling my newer staff what a wonderful person used to work in my fiscal department. I’m truly happy my life path crossed with hers. I send my thoughts and prayers to Kathy, Joe, Marc, Richard and their families.
I was sorry to hear of MaryAnn’s passing away. She was a lovely and gracious person. We were former neighbors and she remained a wonderful friend to my mom, Melody Johnson, even after she moved away. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

So sorry to hear this. She was always such a pleasant presence in our family get-togethers. I always remember her birthday was one day later than my mother’s and her passing was one year and six days as it turned out. Take care, Ludowese family.
It’s been five months since we had our last breakfast date. It has taken me till now to find my way to this page to say tell you this for there’s not a day I don’t wake-up and not mourn that I won’t have another breakfast with you for a while yet. I miss our talks, our coloring, our giggles over the silly filters in Snap Chat… I simply miss you, my friend. You were wisdom, laughter, peace, encouragement, delight… you were the example of Jesus in so many ways but most of all your love. I’m well into my 40s and until I met you, I never had someone I admired enough to say “I want to be like them”. Before my family even knew who “Mary Ann” was they heard me often come home and say “I want to be a Mary Ann”. You NEVER waivered in your faith, and never forgot God. Luke 6:45 say, “…for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.” God was your heart’s abundance; I know this for I witnessed you speak your heart often. Like you, regardless of what life gives me, I want God to be the abundance of my heart that is never forgotten. I want to love life, love living, as you did. I hope I am, and will be a Mary Ann as I continue this journey, until we meet again and resume our breakfast dates. I love you dearly.
