WOOSTER – Mary Jane Yacapraro, 74, of Wooster passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Jane was born in Mansfield to Robert and Helen Mouser Wallace.  She married Dr. Michael A. Yacapraro on December 21, 1964.  They were married 54 years.

In 1968 Jane and Dr. Yacapraro opened the Wooster Animal Clinic where she was a bookkeeper, receptionist and technician.  She continued to be a vital member of the Wooster Animal Clinic Staff.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Jane loved playing board games and cards with her grandchildren.  She liked watching romantic movies with her husband.  Jane was an exceptional decorator and friends loved to visit her cabin to see the changes of seasons.  She enjoyed gardening and puttering around her property with her beloved dog, Annie.  She was fiercely independent.  She enjoyed traveling adventures with her husband to places like Italy, Florida, Canada and Alaska.

Her grandchildren loved her iced tea at family gatherings, her homemade cooking and her gift of generosity and love. She made holidays special and was a friend to all.  Her sweet smile and hugs made everyone feel at home.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed attending Mass.

Surviving are her children, Jennifer (Scott) Raulston, Tony (Tracy) Yacapraro, Stephanie Rice and Mark (Heidi) Yacapraro; 14 grandchildren; siblings, Robert Wallace and Joy Leedy and many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 4-7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 19, 2018 at noon at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with Rev. Stephen Moran as celebrant.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Wayne Co. Dog Shelter, 5694 Burbank Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

I am so sorry to hear of this. Aunt Jane was special to me. Our family visits to Wooster were always pleasant.
I am facing my own issues and those keep me from being there. To Jennifer,Tony,Stephanie and Mark ... my sincere sympathies.

We are stunned and saddened to learn of Jane's passing. We had recently visited with her at the Wayne County Fair, and she and Mike both meant so much to us. Please accept our sincere and deep sympathy, for Mark and the entire family. We will always remember Jane's beautiful smile and her many kindnesses over the years. Our hearts go out to you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We were saddened to read about Jane's passing. The Animal Clinic is a wonderful place and a great commentary on Jane & Mike's work.

What a loss! She was such a sweet lady. We learned to know her when we had the 76 gas station right next to the Animal Clinic. Had lots of memories from that time in our lives. I also got to enjoy her company when I worked at Franklin Elementary. Doc and Mary Jane always remembered the staff on holidays. What a delight to know both of them. We would also visit at church. She will be greatly missed by all. Our sympathy goes out to all the family especially Tony and his family and Mark and his family. You are all in our prayers.

I’m so stunned am saddened by the passing of Jane. Prayers for peace and comfort.i had many long talks with her while I worked at Buehlers Town Market Cafe. Jane was a kind and generous soul. Our Sympathy to your family, and to the staff of the Wooster Animal Clinic. We had the pleasure of seeing Jane at our recent visit to The Animal Clinic. Both of us having in common the love for schnauzers. Jane would always share with us stories of her little dog Annie. We will always remember Jane’s Smile. You are in our thoughts and Prayers.

I had the privilege of working with Jane for many years at the Wooster Animal Clinic. Jane was a wonderful woman! I just ran into her a month ago at our hair salon and stopped to chat for a moment and I am so glad I did. To The Yacopraro family, My heart is broken into a million pieces from losing my best friend. I am currently looking through gifts from Jane. One being a book with this special quote " A true friend is the person in whose light we shine the brightest" This certainly applied with our friendship. Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting Jane, I felt like I knew her well from how much Nancy Dilzell spoke of her. She was always so thoughtful sending us cards & gifts on special occasions. Heaven has welcomed an Angel. My deepest sympathy to all her family & friends.

Since we moved to Florida we have been out of touch but have fond memories of Jane. She was always so much fun to be with and enjoyed her happy personality.
