WOOSTER – Starting out in the pole position Mike Dobber Leathers started his first race on January 18, 1959. Mike loved car racing and often himself the leader of the pack. Sometimes he was out front by a car length and often was being chased by the greats. Mike’s last race finished on October 15, 2008. As he was rounding the last corner and heading for home we could all see the checkered flag. Mike was surrounded by family as he crossed the winning line.
Mike is survived by a son, Ryan Leathers of Moreland, mother, Betty Jean Leathers and Bob Brady of Naples, FL, Brother, Rod Leathers of Shreve, sister, Robin Sampsel of Jeromesville, Brother, Brian (Suzanne) Leathers of Naples, FL, nieces, Kristin Thornhill and Ashtyn Brady, nephew, Landon Brady .

As a kid Mike loved baseball and admired Roger Wells. We are asking in lieu of flowers to please send donations to the Roger and Marilyn Wells Scholarship Fund, c/o Wayne Co. Community Foundation, 517 N. Market St., Wooster, OH 44691.
Mike’s family wants everyone to know that we still strongly believe in organ donation and transplants. God bless the doctors and nurses at Case Western Reserve University Hospital in Cleveland.
Sure is nice….Sure is nice they took the curve out of the road. You don’t know how hard it was to drive a semi on it.
