Mr. Lezak pursued a career as an educator as a teacher in the Chicago Public School System and at EHOVE Joint Vocational School in Milan, Ohio. In 1974, he began a 30 year association with the Wayne County Schools Career Center as an administrator. He retired from education in 2004 after serving 5 years as superintendent of the school district.
Mr. Lezak was a member of the Board of Directors of the Wooster Area
Chamber of Commerce for six years including one year as Chairman of the Board. Since January, 2005, he has served as the Executive Director of the Chamber.
Mr. Lezak was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed participating in a variety of sports including baseball, football, basketball, golf, bowling and shooting pool. He was a high school official for more than 30 years and had the honor of officiating several high school playoff games. He was named the National Federation Officials Association Football Official of the Year for Ohio in 2000. He also enjoyed jogging and for more than 30
years would begin his day with a 2-3 mile run.
He was active in the community contributing time to Boy Scouts, Little League baseball, United Way, Junior Achievement, Rotary, Parks and Recreation, and the Wayne County Officials Association. He had been a life-long member of the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church (Mogadore).
He married Joann Marlene Natalizio in 1968 and shared life with her until her death in 1982. In 1983 he married Jenny Maria Rudolf. She survives.
In addition to his wife Jenny, he is survived by a son Nicholai (Wooster), daughter Emily (San Diego), sister Patricia Ranta (Stow), and several loving cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster and from 5-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Kucko-Anthony-Keetesz Funeral Home, 95 West Waterloo Road, Akron with a Parastas Service at 7:00 P.M. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at St. Nicholas Church, 755 Cleveland Road, Mogadore with burial at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery following. The body will lie in state from 10-11:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the St. Nicholas Cemetery Fund.
