WOOSTER – Milton Owen SWITZER, Jr., 86, of Wooster, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009 in Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born August 7, 1923 in Wooster, the son of Milton Owen, Sr. and Grace Harp Switzer.
He was 1941 graduate of Wooster High School and was the owner of Willey and Company Plumbing Supply and was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church. He was a member of Ebenezer Lodge #33 F& AM, Wooster Eagles and a life member of the Wooster Moose Lodge and served as former governor. He spent many winters in Green Valley Arizona. He served his country with the U.S. Army as a Staff Sargent during WWII during the Battle of the Bulge.
Surviving are his children Terry (Elsie) Wilson of Wooster, Cherie (Bud)Parcell of Wooster, Kathy (Chuck) Miles of Sarasota, FL, and Kimberly (Gary)Gantz of Wooster; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a sister, Virginia Swartz of Canton.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mary Ann Lumpkin and Wanda Starr and a grandson, Mathew Gantz.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 P.M.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Nathan Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Wooster Cemetery,
The family would like to thank the staff at Glendora Health Care Center and Wooster Community Hospital for their kindness and care of their father.
