Miriam Mutchler age 95, of Wooster passed away December 16 at Wayne County Care Center.
Miriam was born December 5, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA, moved to Shreve and then to Loudonville.
She was previously deceased by her husbands, Richard Mutchler and Milton Hecht and two sons, Michael and Patrick Mutchler, two brothers, and a grandson.
Miriam is survived by her children Amy Howman of Ashland, Joel Hecht and his partner Donna Jean Moreau of Port Angeles, Washington, Laura Mutchler and her partner, William Reisinger of Huntington, Kurt and Suzanne Mutchler of Wooster, Marybeth Greene of Grand Junction, Colorado and Maria Mutchler of Mansfield, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Along with Richard, she was active in the Shreve United Methodist Church, Zion Lutheran Church in Loudonville and the St. Peter ™s Lutheran Church of Wooster (New Pittsburg).
Miriam loved to travel and had a life full of seeing many firsts, such as becoming a telephone operator at the dawn of that technology.   She witnessed the golden age of autos, space flights and computers.   When Miriam was in her 80s, she got her first laptop computer and cell phone.   Mom loved doing Meals on Wheels and visiting Shut-ins.   Her outgoing, vibrant personality made these enjoyable for her and those she visited.   Miriam was a voracious reader sometimes completing 2 large mysteries a week.   She had a wicked sense of humor and an unforgettable smile.   Miriam loved playing cards and was a fearsome opponent.   She enjoyed life. Her greatest joy was her family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.   She was a master gardener, as evidenced by her flower beds.

  3. Dear Mary Beth, Laura, and family. What a sweetheart your mom was! We would see her at Victoria’s house in Loudonville at Christmastime, and always loved talking with her and Angie, in the little pack of appetizer-eaters in the kitchen! She was just the nicest person! We are very sorry that you have lost her now, but are glad that she got to live such a full, long life. We know you will all carry her and her wisdom and class, in your pockets always! Love, Susi and Jimmy
