WOOSTER – Norman Edward KAMP, 88, of Wooster, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in Country Point Nursing Home.
He was born November 2, 1921 in Chester Twp., Wayne Co., the son of Roy and Ruth Smith Kamp. He married Arlene Rastetter on September 6, 1947. She died December 3, 1979.
He was a dairy farmer and enjoyed coon hunting and raising mules. Norman was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, was a former member of the New Pittsburg Fire Dept. and was a charter member of the New Pittsburg Sportsman’s Club. He attended Chester High School.
Surviving are his children Jerry (Darlene) Kamp of Wooster, Ronald (Lora) Kamp of Daniel, WY, Rita (David) Tegtmeier of W. Salem and Roger (Lisa) Kamp of Wooster, OH, grandchildren, Brandon Kamp, Julie (Andy) Guidetti, Tyler Kamp, Luke Tegtmeier, Jill (Dennis) Lemon and Mark Tegtmeier; 2 great-grandsons.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Frederick Kamp and a sister, Naomi Clark.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Friday evening from 6-8:00 P.M.
Services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Mel Kirk officiating. Interment will follow in the Reedsburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Peter Lutheran Church Building Fund, 9451 Ashland Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 or the New Pittsburg Fire Dept., c/o Roger Kamp, 1466 Twp. Rd. 35, Wooster, OH 44691.
The family would like to thank the staff at Country Pointe for their wonderful care over the last eight years.
