Wooster - Patricia C. Frontz, 88, of Wooster passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Wooster Community Hospital.

She was born March 26, 1931 in Wooster, the daughter of John P. and Antoinette Massaro Grande. She was the seventh of thirteen children and called herself "the Middleman." She made herself a special pet of her father, earning herself the nickname "Princess" by her siblings.

She was an involved and loving mother. She cared for, fed, and counseled not only her own children and step-children but countless others—often times until the wee hours of the morning. She was a competitive card and game player, showing no mercy even to the youngest grandchildren. Her kitchen was the heart of her home. Every person that walked through the door was fed delicious food in abundant quantities. And the coffee was always on.

She and her husband Richard owned and operated Frontz Drilling for many years. After retirement, they created wonderful friendships at their winter home in Florida. There too, the coffee was always on.

Surviving are her children, Deborah Richards, Barbara (Jim) Geiser, Connie Simpson, Mary Beth Butzer, Jackie (Brian) Driscoll, Veronica Frontz, Doug (Connie) Frontz, Steve (Chris) Frontz, Rod Frontz and Ericka Burgin; 28 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; siblings, Colletta Baldridge of Lafayette, LA, Diane Martens of Celina, OH, and Adrienne Withrow, Marilyn Raby and Rachel Conrad all of Wooster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard E. Frontz on October 28, 2015; stepson, Tim Frontz; grandsons, John Geiser and Joe Frontz; daughter-in-law, Beth Frontz; and siblings Frank, George, John, Eugene Grande and Philomena Wright, Loretta Harsh and Jeanine Wilson.

Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E Larwill St, Wooster on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 6-8:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave, Wooster with Rev. Richard Samide as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Condolences

You were a second mom to me and I will never forget your kindness, sense of humor, and grace under pressure. You got the crazy teenage years with so many of us and yet you handled it all with a sense of calm… not sure how you did that. Rest In Peace Pat and know you were loved by so many. My sincere sympathy to the family I always was made to feel “a part of”. I love you all.

Offen see her at the palor for breakfast. Very pleasant to talk, sorry for the family.
