Wooster “ Phillip Karl œPhil  Garver, 78 of Wooster passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Akron City Hospital.
He was born December 30, 1940 in Lodi, the son of Paul and Pearl Irene Massie Garver.   He married Beverly œJeanne  Messner on February 4, 1961.   She survives.
He had worked at the Wooster Brush Company as a supervisor in the Quality Dept.   Phil was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ.   He enjoyed watching his grandson play sports, baseball, golf and fishing.   He was also a member of the Wooster Police Reserves.
He proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Stephanie (Rodney) Sigler of Wadsworth and Mitch Garver of Wooster; a grandson, Ben Sigler and a nephew Bill Garver of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Paul and Gary Garver.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Dr. Kevan Franklin officiating.   Inurnment will take place in the spring at the Wooster Cemetery.
