Wooster – Phyllis Jean (Battig) Barnes, 79 passed peacefully on Tuesday December 22, 2020 just 48 hours after her husband of 34 years, Ross Barnes.   They both resided at Avenue of Wooster.
Phyllis was born October 2, 1941 in Wooster, the daughter of Edward Battig and Luella (Hofacker) Battig.   She graduated from Wooster High School in 1959 where she was proud to be a Majorette all four years.

Dora, FL, Jeanette (Dana) Jackson of Leesburg, FL, grandchildren; James Lepore, Doug Lepore, Andrea Stitzlein, Phillip Conduff, Alisha Powers, Emily (Griffin) Watson and Natalie (Griffin) Dulaney and seven great grandchildren.   Brothers; Larry (Jean) Battig, Don (Sharon) Battig, Edward Battig II, and sister ™s Joanne Jolliff and Jackie (Rosevelt) Scott.

  1. Cheryl, Chrissy and Jeanette,

We are sorry for the loss of your mom. You’ve had a rough stretch these last few years. We pray that you are at peace knowing the pain is no more for your mom.

We won’t forget Aunt Phyllis. She had her many furry friends to keep her busy and happy. A fond memory of her is when Annalise was the flower girl in cousin Laura’s wedding. She ripped the front of her dress and was in tears. Aunt Phyllis to the rescue. At the reception she whipped out her needle and thread and fixed the dress on the spot. Sadly we never got her recipe for her famous cabbage rolls. She was a gifted lady.

    Remember the happy moments.

    Love – Jeff and Susan

  2. Our family was friends with the Battigs and Phyllis babysat for me and at that time six younger siblings. I remember her as kind and sweet to us. I had such a young boy’s crush on her. God bless dear Phyllis and her extended family.
