WOOSTER “ Ralph Edwin œEd  Bersch, 71, of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at West View Healthy Living.
He was born August 30, 1950 in Wooster the son of Ralph W. and Reita Halliwell Bersch.   He married Gail Buchwalter on November 5, 1983.   She survives.
Ed enjoyed woodworking, especially wooden toys and baby cribs, fishing, frog gigging and telling œwar  stories.   He loved his kids and grandkids.
He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Doug (Marisa) Bersch of Apple Creek, Timmy Winkleman of Ohio, Tommy Bersch of Ohio, Michael (Monica) Bersch of Massillon and Josh Bersch of Wooster; grandchildren Logan, Kennedy, Cheyenne, Heaven, Morgan, T.J., Michaela, Sara, Lizzy, Gavin and Isabella; great-grandson Leland; siblings Donna (Jerry AmRhein) Aimes of Kentucky, Lois McCarty of Wooster, Terry Bersch of Wooster and George (Karen) Bersch of Burbank.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no calling hours and a memorial service will be on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Smithville United Methodist Church, 243 N. Milton St., Smithville.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
Those who wish may make contributions to the funeral home to help defray expenses.

  2. We are so saddened to hear of Ed’s passing. He was a nice, gentle man and always willing to help with events at the church. We will miss him in our Sunday School class. We know it has been a rough past year, but he seldom missed before he became ill. Many prayers for you, Gail, and for your whole family. May the Lord comfort you in your time of grief.

  3. I was one of Ed’s nurses at WVHL. He was one of the kindest most understanding men I have ever had the privilege of taking care of. He will be greatly missed. I send my condolences and much love to your entire family. May he rest easy.
