SMITHVILLE “ Randy L. Grove, 52, of Smithville passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at his home.
He was born June 10, 1967 in Wooster, the son of Teddy L. and Karen Sue Aukerman Grove.
Randy was a 1985 graduate of Wooster High School where he earned varsity letters in both football and baseball.   He was a self-employed amish driver and had also done home repairs.   A member of the Akron Road First Church of God.   He enjoyed NASCAR and golf.
Surviving are his children Ryan Grove of Smithville and Megan Grove of Wooster and his former spouse Rhonda Grove of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father Lloyd Fisher.
There will be no calling hours.   A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Rev. Dan Krites officiating.

  1. I am saddened to hear of Randy’s passing. I spent many days playing softball with him, you could not find a nicer human being. I will never forget looking up to him as of member of the First Church of God national championship bible quiz team in the early 80’s, my heart aches. Prayers to his family

  2. Randy and I graduated together. Just reconnected a bit this past summer when we found out we both live in Smithville. He was a nice man, and I am sad to hear of his passing.

  3. We are so very sad to hear about Randy’s passing. We had him in youth group and on quiz team at First Church Of God. My husband played basketball with him. He was a very nice guy we will miss him. God bless.

  6. My deepest condolences to the family, so sad to hear of Randy’s passing. I have a lot of good memories of our mud racing and 4-wheeler days back in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Just sorry that I had lost contact with him for so many years. God Bless!
