WOOSTER – Raymond J. DAUGHERTY, 84, of Wooster, died Monday, May 26, 2008 in Akron General Medical Center.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill Street, Wooster, OH, 1 hour prior to the 11:00 A.M. service on Thursday, May 29, 2008 with the Rev. Dr. Alan E. Nathan officiating. Intermentt will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Born November 18, 1923 in Wooster, Ohio, he was the son of Harley and Irene Greenwald Daugherty.
He retired from Rubbermaid stock service after 20 years of service. He attended the Zion Lutheran Church and served his country in the Army during WWII with 148th Infantry Regiment, 37th Division and was awarded a Purple Heart, American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with two stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one star.
Surviving are his children Michael (Donna) Daugherty of Wooster and Vikki (Michael) Wilson of Creston; Grandchildren M. Scott (Leslie) Daugherty of Wooster, Matthew (Stephanie) Daugherty of Reynoldsburg, Casandra (Aaron) DeVanna of Delaware, Kelli Wilson of Creston, Michel (Kevin Cain) Wilson of Wooster and Janella Wilson of Creston; Great-Grandchildren Devin, Cameron and Erin Daugherty of Wooster, Spencer and Madeline Daugherty of Reynoldsburg, Christopher, Kirsten and Zachary Wilson of Creston, Harley DeVanna of Delaware and Izabell Cain of Wooster; brothers, Donald (Bettie) Daugherty,Thomas (Connie) Daugherty and a sister, Marjean Carney all of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet L. Fritch Daugherty, on May 16, 2008 and a grandson Joshua Wilson.
