Becky Jones, 84, 1424 Hickory Lane, Wooster, died Saturday evening, March 20, at Wooster Community Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wooster with Rev. James Watt officiating. Private burial of the cremains will be at Wooster Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster is handling arrangements.
Becky suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Habitat for Humanity, 1451 Spruce Street Ext., Wooster, 44691.
Becky was born April 24, 1925 in Wooster to Francis S. and Josephine (Evans) Whitaker and married Richard Jones on August 14, 1947, he passed January 27, 1993.
She was a 1943 graduate of Wooster High School and a 1947 graduate of the College of Wooster.
Becky worked as a teacher before the birth of her first child in 1949 and then again at Boy?s Village. In between, she used her intellectual capacity to become a Life Master in Duplicate Bridge.
For a large part of her life, Becky became an internationally known and respected feline breeder specializing in Siamese, Abyssinians and Persians. For several years she was a Great Lakes Regional Director with the Cat Fanciers? Association (CFA). Additionally, Becky became an all breed judge with the CFA which took her to places such as Italy, Austria, and Japan. She housed the Quin-Jo cattery which produced grand champions of all four colors of Siamese and national winners of Persians and Abyssinians.
