Richard Dale Stumbaugh, 78, of Wooster died Friday, August 12, 2016 at his home.
He was born August 17, 1937 in Knox County to Howard and Dema Rabjohn Stumbaugh.   On February 2, 1971, he married Teresa Schie.   She preceded him in death in 2002.
Richard worked in the Research and Development department of Rubbermaid for many years.   He enjoyed woodworking and working around the house.   He knew how to fix everything and was always doing something for others.   He is a former member of the Elks and the JayCees where he help to set off fireworks at the College and with the tennis tournaments.
He is survived by his children Dayle (Ed) Straits of Millersburg, Dan (Wendy) Stumbaugh of Richfield, Dee Dee (Stephen) Ghirardelli of Craig, CO and Debbie (Lance) Frisby of Durango, CO; grandchildren Michael (Lyndsey) Ghirardelli, Brian Ghirardelli, Christina Cummings, Alex Frisby, Keith (Samantha Schafer) Tish, Nicole (Jeff) Cox, Madison, Abby, Adam and John Stumbaugh; great grandchildren Keenan, Maddie, Mia, Claire, Angelo, TJ, Makayla, Jayden, Deliverance, Preston and Nathan; sister-in-law Barbara Stumbaugh of Danville and a close family friend Betty Wengered.
Along with his wife, Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Mowery and brother Wayne, who along with his wife, helped raise him.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.   Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm.
