WOOSTER – Richard Dawson Dick SOHL, 84, of Wooster passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009 in Akron City Hospital.
He was born June 19, 1925 in Cleveland, the son of Raymond Carl and Viola Young Sohl.
He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marines from 1943 to 1946 on various islands in the South Pacific attaining the rank of corporal. He was a Petroleum Geologist and a member of the First Presbyterian Church
Surviving are a son, David Sohl and a daughter Susan Louise Sohl both of Wooster.
Richard was preceded in death by by his parents and his wife Shirley Frances Pike Sohl in 1983.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the 11:00 A.M. services at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday, November 19, 2009 with Rev. Eric Fairhurst officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery, in Twinsburg at 2:00 P.M.
