WOOSTER “ Richard Glenn Geitgey, 85, of Wooster passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the Wayne Co. Care Center.
He was born December 31, 1935 in Wayne County, the son of Glenn and Opal Matty Geitgey.   He married Thelma Reed on May 7, 1961.   She survives.
Richard retired in 2000 as owner and operator of Dick ™s Sales and Service for 22 years.   He had been a body repair technician for different garages in Wayne Co. for 35 years.   He was a member of the Congress Community Church where he served on various boards, was a member of the Northwestern Ruitans since 1978.   Richard enjoyed square dancing.
He had served his country with the National Guard from 1957 “ 1964.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Thelma, are his children Barbara (William) Miller of Elyria, Patricia (Kevin) Missal of Avon Lake and Kenneth (Lynette) Geitgey of Wooster; grandchildren William (Anmarie) Miller, Joseph (Natalie) Geitgey, Dylan Missal; great-grandchildren William Miller, Colton Miller and Griffen Geitgey and a brother Dwight Geitgey of West Salem.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Mark Geitgey in 2006, a grandson Brandon Geitgey in 2009;  and an infant sister.
Friends will be received on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Congress Community Church, 10691 Franchester Road, W. Salem with Pastors Tadd Sponseller and Chris Cottrell officiating.   Burial will be in the Reedsburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 or to the Congress Community Church.

    We extend our heartfelt sympathy to you in the passing of Richard. Thelma, you lovingly cared for him in your home for a long time and know you will miss him. May God comfort you all at this sad time. Jim will be having a test at the time of the funeral and will be unable to attend but we will be praying for you.
