WOOSTER – Robert Dean SHINABARKER, 77, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in his home.
He was born September 3, 1931 in Glenmont, the son of Harley and Grace Strouse Shinabarker.
He retired in 1994 after over 39 years as a machine operator at the Wooster Brush Co. He was a member of the Central Christian Church. He served his country in the Army Signal Corps during the Korean War. He was also active with the Wooster Youth Baseball from 1962 to the present.
Surviving are sons, Terry Shinabarker of Houston, TX and Gary (Lori) Shinabarker of Bakersfield, CA; grandchildren, Collin and Cameron Shinabarker and Danielle and Jaclyn Shinabarker; sisters, Edith Croskey of Millersburg and Helen Jones of Killbuck and Earl and Jim Shinabarker both of Glenmont..
Robert was preceded in death by his parents,his wife, Virginia McCluggage Shinabarker, to whom he was married 47 years, a sister, Vera McCafferty and a brother, Ed Shinabarker.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster on Friday evening from 6-8:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held at Central Christian Church, Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Kevin Phipps officiating. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
