Ruth E. Goodyear, 77, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born in Akron, Ohio on April 3, 1942 to Walter A. and Ruth E. (Olsen) Nolan. She married the love of her life and soulmate, James J. Goodyear, on November 7, 1982, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Akron, Ohio. Rev. Bruce G. Trethaway performed the ceremony and they were married for 37 years.
She graduated from high school in Akron, Ohio and had attended the career center where she graduated with honors.
Ruth was employed at various jobs throughout her life, but enjoyed traveling with her husband in his semi-truck, when he worked for Keen Transport, Inc., and helping him with the chains and binders and chaining down his oversize loads. He hauled heavy equipment, until his retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Walter A. Nolan, Jr. She is survived by her husband; a daughter Mary E. Berry of Elkhart, Indiana; grandson Kyle A. Berry; granddaughter Shelby E. Berry; step-daughter Sherry D. Goodyear; step-daughter-in-law Melissa Goodyear; step-grandchildren Nicole, Michael, (Emma), Ryleigh, Jarrett Goodyear; and two step-great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, is assisting the family with arrangements.
