WOOSTER – Ruth J. AYERS, 82, of Wooster, deoved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born February 23, 1927 in Nelsonville the daughter of James E. and Blanche Moore Lee.
Ruth was a homemaker and had been a telephone operator in Athens and Columbus. She was a member of the Central Christian Church and a member of the Republican Women. She was very active researching geneology.
Surviving are her husband, Robert L. Ayers, whom she married October 2, 1949; her children, Richard (Barb) Ayers of Wooster, Randall Ayers of Columbus and Rebecca (Dale) Shingleton of Wooster, grandchildren Kristy Ayers and Ryan Shingleton, 4 great-grandsons, sister, June Light of Coshocton.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Majel Milner, Edith Millburn, Kathryn Sweaengin, Wanda Tedrick, Virginia Ellis, Clayton and Jim Lee.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Friday, March 27, 2009 from 6-8:00 P.M.
Services will be held at Funeral Home, Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Eric Fairhurst officiating. Interment will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
