Ruth Merry Tisher, 68, of Wooster, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Wooster Community Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born December 25, 1949 in Orrville to Homer E. and Esther M. (Liber) Eshleman.
Ruth graduated from Orrville High School and Bowling Green State University with a B.S. in education.   She taught at Smithville, Orrville, Westerville and Bettsville schools and also worked at Wayne County Head Start.   She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ where she sang in the choir and was active in the Peace & Justice Committee.   Ruth also enjoyed gardening.   She was a member of Alpha Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International and the Sisters of ™68.
Ruth is survived by her children Greg (Lizzie) Tisher of Chicago and Lori (Jennene) Pritt of Akron.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Trinity United Church of Christ, 150 E. North St., Wooster with Rev. Dr. Kevan Franklin officiating.   Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.  
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 4 from 3:00-5:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
