WOOSTER – Samuel J ROSE, 90, of Wooster, OH, died Sunday, December 21, 2008 in Akron General Hospital.
He was born January 29, 1918 in Ashtabula, OH, son of Emelio and Mary Massaro Rose.
He had been a Dock Foreman at B & F Transfer Company and had worked part-time at Coccia House. He attended the Nazarene Church and was a past member of Lamplighters and Widows, Widowers and Friends. Served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII.
Surviving are children, Joyce (Charles R. Bob) McClure, Ron (Jill) Rose and Gregory (Cindy) Rose all of Wooster, grandchildren Paula (Michael) Rich, Denise (Michael) Palombi, Doug (Cindy) McClure, Tina, Mark and Danny Rose; great-grandchildren Melissa and Aaron Rich, Gino, Angelo and Nicole Palombi and Hanna and Gabrielle McClure; sister, Delores (Merle) Crites of Smithville, Brothers, Ray (Florence) Rose of Wooster and Richard Rose of Shreve.
Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary T. Moretti Rose, on February 3, 1998 whom he married August 31, 1940, son, Daniel Rose, a grandson Matthew Rose, a sister Angeline Ghirardelli and brothers Albert and Paul Rose.
Services will be held at Wooster Church of the Nazarene, Friday, December 26, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Nathan Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Tuesday evening from 6-9:00 P.M.
