WOOSTER – Sarah Townsend Chapman Slover, 57, passed away on April 9, 2019 surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on December 8, 1961 and grew up in Wooster, Ohio. Her parents were Tom and Joyce Chapman, brother, Scott.
After graduation from Wooster High School, Class of 1980, Sarah received her undergrad degree from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI. She was 2 courses away from obtaining her Master’s degree in accounting.
Sarah held multiple jobs in the hotel and accounting fields in Cleveland, Canton and Wooster. She was employed by CRIC and H&R Block. Income tax preparation was important work to her. Even at the end, she tried to beat the April 15th deadline.
Sarah married Jimi Slover on November 27, 2011. She was a lifelong member of Central Christian Church where she was active in the Hanging of the Greens and Pictures with Santa. Sarah was a valuable member of the Sister Chicks.
Sarah T, as she preferred to be called, was a treasured friend who loved to travel and enjoyed the beach even if she had to cover up with a hat and sunscreen. Christmas, snowmen, and snow were her very favorite. She played Hallmark holiday movies and Christmas music year round. Her Christmas tree is still up.
She was a trained musician in piano and trombone. Sarah T’s cell phone ringtones were distinctive Christmas instrumentals. Her favorite was O Holy Night.
As an avid sports fan, Sarah T was the church’s softball team’s scorekeeper. She loved the Browns and the Buckeyes and never shied away from razing her rival friends.
Sarah T had a frequent and distinctive laugh spiced with sarcasm and teasing. Euchre and Mexican Train dominos were her favorite games.
Her goal was to see the Northern Lights in person. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, as well as her heart dog, Mutzy. She is now watching the Aurora Borealis from above.
She is survived by her husband and stepson, Kevin Slover of Elyria; sister-in-law, Stacey Chapman of   Wooster; a niece, Daria (Tim) Porreca of West Chester, PA and great niece and nephew, Timothy Porreca, Jr., and Sydney Porreca.
