WOOSTER “ Sharon E. Ouwerkerk, 75, of Wooster, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at LifeCare Hospice.
Sharon was born on April 18, 1942 in Portland, Michigan to Robert & Lillian Peel and married Larry Ouwerkerk on August 31, 1962.   He survives.   Sharon worked as a Registered Nurse for many years.   During her career she was employed by the Wooster Community Hospital, The Wooster Clinic, as well as the West View Manor Care Center.   She enjoyed travelling, quilting, baking, and spending time with her family and friends.   She was a member of the Church of the Cross UMC, involved with the Prayer Shawl Ministry, and various groups and outreach ministries.  
Sharon will be best remembered for the delicious baked goods she shared with neighbors, family, and friends, as well as the numerous quilts and craft items she created and donated to community organizations and her church. She had a kind and generous spirit and will be missed by many.
Sharon will be deeply missed by her husband; children, Laura Ouwerkerk of Wooster, and Jennifer (Jim) Gray of Wooster; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; Brothers, Steve Peel, Greg (Peggy) Peel, and Tom Peel; Sister, Marge (Terin) Wales; Brother in Law, Dick Stone.   Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Linda Stone.  
Calling hours will be, Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at McIntire, Bradham, and Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, Ohio, 44691.   Private family burial will take place at the Wooster Cemetery.   A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church.
