WOOSTER – Sherman MCAFEE, 72, of Wooster, passed away Thursday morning, March 18, 2010 in Aultman Hospital, Canton following a brief illness.
He was born July 19, 1937 in Wooster, the son of Sherman E and Rachel Helmuth McAfee.
Sherman was a Supervisor for Buckeye Protective Services and a truck driver for 38 years. He attended the Central Christian Church. He was a member of React Radio Club and the Killbuck Valley Radio Club. He enjoyed gardening, and playing card games. Served his country with the U.S. Navy stationed in San Diego, CA. He will be remembered for his hard work, giving nature and loyalty to all he loved..
Surviving are wife, Illa McClintock McAfee, to whom he had been married 50 years; his children Valerie (Karl) Rohrer of Smithville, Sandra (Charles) Spahr of Wooster and Richard (Julie) McAfee of Apple Creek, grandchildren, Michael, Kelsi, Aaron and Melissa; great-granddaughter, Madison and a great-grandchild expected this spring; sisters Ruth Roudebush of Florida and Esther Franks of Wooster.
Sherman was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Hatti Rohrer.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 4-6:00 P.M.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Kevin Phipps officiating. Burial will be in the Creston Cemetery.
