Shirley Jean Spahr, 68, of Wooster died on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Ohio ™s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.
She was born September 8, 1953 in Wooster to Herbert and Anita Thomason Spahr.
Shirley had retired from the J.M. Smucker Company in the early 2000 ™s. Prior to working at Smucker’s, she had been employed at the Apple Creek Developmental Center and Regal Ware. She was very proud of her volunteer work with Wooster Community Hospital. She enjoyed gambling trips to the casino, and playing bingo at the Wooster Community Center. She especially loved her dogs Shadow and Buster.
She is survived by her children Jeffrey (Jessica Van Winkle) Facemire of Vickery, OH, Joseph Facemire, and Michael (Rhonda Nixon) Facemire, both of Wooster; grandchildren Robert Facemire II, Lisa Elder, Alex Facemire, Brandon Facemire, Bradley Facemire, Bekka Facemire, Nathan Facemire, Sebastian Facemire, Alec Facemire, Seth Facemire, and Nevaeh Facemire; great-grandchildren Vincent Facemire and Marceline Elder; and siblings Fredric Gourlay of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Karen Shear of Holmesville, Vickie Spahr of Orrville, and Charles (Sandra) Spahr of Wooster; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends she cared so much about.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son Robert Facemire in 2021.
Friends will be received 2 hours prior to the 12:00PM funeral service on Monday, May 2, 2022 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, with Chaplain Daron Butler officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

  2. Shirley’s family… so sorry to hear about the loss of sweet Shirley. We had so many fun times at Smuckers & she was always laughing / chatting trying to keep everyone awake on the 3rd shift. What an amazing lady always being a friend.. How she would light up when talking about her family as she did quite often . Heaven received a beautiful spirit as I know she will be sadly missed. May GOD and his awesome promise comfort each of you as the healing begins

  6. I met Shirley when I started dating her son Bob We spent lots of time together With and without Bob. I have so much love for her I am going to miss her so much. My condolences to all of her family and friends. I hope that she is spending every minute with Bob in heaven. Shirley if you can hear this message I love you and I miss you

  7. I met Shirley when I started dating her son Bob. We became very good friends I would even come to town early just to spend time with her before Bob would get off work. I love her so much and I’m going to miss her with all of my heart. My condolences to all of her family and friends who will also miss her. I hope that you are in heaven with Bob and that you guys will spend eternity together.

  10. So very sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. We worked together at Regal Ware, and again at Smuckers. The many memories and laughter we shared, will always be with me. Keep the laughter going, my friend, until we meet again.

  11. I’ve known Shirley and her family since her sister Vickie & I and my sister Marcia were friends in school. We have so many wonderful memories of her over the years. She was so loving & caring of all her friends and family. Tom worked with her at Smucker’s over the years and he always enjoyed her friendship and the fun times working with her. She will be truly missed by us. You are all in our heart and prayers.
