WOOSTER – œMimi Susan Margaret (Conrad) Yarnell, 76, of Wooster, OH, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Wayne County Care Center with family by her side.
The daughter of the late Clarence L. and Mary (Teahan) Conrad, Susie was born November 6, 1940 in East Liverpool, OH.   She attended Wooster City Schools along with her future husband, the late Donald G. Yarnell Sr., whom she married in 1958.   After earning her degree as a Licensed Practicing Nurse, she worked for over 20 years, many of which were spent at Smithville Western Care Center as a Supervisor.
She is fondly remembered by her colleagues for her bustling energy, abundant and detailed lists on reports, and guidance for both patients and staff to seek œpatience and perseverance.    What Susie lacked in height she more than compensated for in her boisterous personality and endearing warmth.
Susie ™s family brought her endless joy.   She loved staging birthday parties, elaborate Easter Egg Hunts, and day trips to visit art and cultural museums in Cleveland and surrounding areas.   As the small but mighty matriarch of her clan, she fostered very tight-knit bonds between siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles where cousins felt more akin to siblings and best friends.
Travel was a great love of Susie ™s that she fostered in her family as well.   Whether on her own tropical travels with girlfriends or brought back as a treat from a family member ™s trip abroad, she treasured her sand collection from all over the world and her international interest effused both her home and personal sense of style.
Susie is survived by her brother James (Pamela) Conrad of Commerce, TX and her three children- Donald (Kathleen) Yarnell, Jr. of Wooster, OH along with their children Amber and son Oren, Emily, and Evan; Daniel Yarnell Sr. of Smithville, OH along with his children Daniel (Bailey) and son Lance, Jillian, Kelsey, and Samantha; and Elizabeth Barner of Wooster, OH along with her children Erin, Matthew, and Amanda and daughter Lily.
Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Susie ™s life on Sunday, July 16 from 3-6 p.m. at the Jack & Deb Miller Pavilion, located in the Secrest Arboretum on the OARDC Wooster campus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne County Care Center, 876 S. Geyers Chapel Rd., Wooster OH 44691 or Lifecare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.   McIntire, Bradham, & Sleek Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
