Shreve “ Thomas L. œTom  Armstrong, 90 of Shreve passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his home.
He was born December 25, 1925 in Wooster, the son of True L. and Ozella Kean Armstrong.   He married Dorothy Elizabeth Hatfield on August 1, 1953.   She survives.
He was a 1945 graduate of Shreve High School and a 1951 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture.  Tom was a life-long farmer and had taught Industrial Arts at Hayesville and Jeromesville.   Tom enjoyed woodworking, reading and talking about history, his love of family, community and agriculture.
He was a member of the Shreve United Methodist Church where he was a member of the men ™s prayer breakfast and he was a member of the Farm Bureau
He proudly served his country with the US Army during WWII.
In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his children, Cynthia (Tim) Larson of Canal Fulton, Celia Pang of Kansas, Diane (Douglas) Thompson of Medina, Mary (Jeff) Gindlesberger of Magnolia and James (Pamela) Armstrong of Wooster; his grandchildren, Dan (Sarah) Larson, Ben (Jessica) Larson, Kirk Larson, Jonathan Pang, Michael Pang, Rachel Pang,   David Thompson, Jay (Julie) Gindlesberger, Sam (Taylor Davis) Gindlesberger, Stephanie (George) Duell, Michelle (Chris) Armstrong, Matthew Armstrong and Eric Armstrong; great grandchildren, Dominic and Sullivan Larson, Logan and Alexa Duell and Ian Gindlesberger.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Frances Filkins.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the Shreve United Methodist Church, 430 N. Main St., Shreve with the Rev. Bill Lawson officiating.   Private family burial will be held.
