Vernelle Dilyard, 81, of Wooster, died Saturday December 12, 2009 at Wooster Community Hospital. She was born January 24, 1928 in McHenry, KY to the late Roswell and Violet (Kahn) Amos. Vernelle was a secretary for the former Ceylon Hudson that then became Prescott Ball and Turbin and finally Wachovia Securities. She was a member of the First Church of God and the American Legion Auxiliary. Vernelle is survived by her daughter Penny (Tim) Tausch of Wooster; grandchildren T.J Tausch of Tacoma WA and Tori Tausch of Wooster; sisters Elizabeth Jo France of Wooster, Peggy Smith of Worthington and Sandra Kay Keener of Wooster. Along with her parents, Vernelle was preceded in death by husbands Leo Carnahan and Robert Dilyard. Family services will be held on Tuesday December 15, 2009 at 1:00 pm at McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Rev. Ken Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. There will be no calling hours.
