WOOSTER “ Virginia G. Braun, 82, of Wooster passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
She was born May 19, 1935 in Mannington, WV, the daughter of Charles and Lucy Wright Edgell.   She married Carl J. Braun on August 13, 1955.   He preceded her in death on February 22, 2012.
Virginia had been the Dietary Manager at the former Horn ™s Nursing Home and at the Smithville Western Care Center retiring in 1997 after 26 years.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.   Virginia enjoyed crafts, cooking, camping, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.   She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Barry) Blough, Diane (Mark) Sparr and Catherine Kurtz all of Wooster and Ronda (John) Braun-Gartner of North Canton; grandchildren, T.J. (Jamie) Phillips, Jennifer (Mike) Pertee, Matthew Sparr and Taylor Sparr; great-grandchildren, A.J. Phillips, Calesa Phillips and Haylee Woodruff; siblings, June Stark of Wooster, Aretta Akers of Florida, Phyllis Bellman of Wooster, Cathy Shedron of Wooster, Charlotte Stetler of Wooster, Robert Edgell of Wooster and Ernie Edgell of Moundsville, WV.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bud, Bill and Roger Edgell and sisters, Dorothy Summers and Faye Seko.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 6-8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with the Rev. Stephen Moran as celebrant.   Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
