WOOSTER – Virginia Mary WALTER, 88, of Wooster, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at Smithville Western Care Center.
She was born March 15, 1929 in Wooster, the daughter of Virgil and Mary Elizabeth Buchholz Walter.
Virginia had worked for Eicher’s Food Market and in housekeeping at Wooster Community Hospital. She was a life-long member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and the Mission Circle, Sr. Brunch at the Church and the Red Hats Club.   Virginia loved baking fruitcakes at Christmastime.
Surviving are her siblings, Lucille (Tom) Hirschinger of Wadsworth, Marilyn (Sam), Dalton of Kenton, Dorothy Moine of Rittman, Regenia Howard of N. Canton and Virgil (Mary Jane) Walter of Wooster and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Eugenia Walter and a brothers-in-law Delbert Moine and Richard Howard.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 2-4:00 p.m. with a rosary at 1:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with the Rev. Stephen Moran officiating.   Burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery.
