SMITHVILLE – Walter G. Sniff, Jr., 85, of Smithville passed away at his home on Monday, April 2, 2018.
He was born October 13, 1932 in Cuyahoga County the son of Walter G. and Margaret Klein Sniff.   He married Gail Blough on September 1, 1951.   She preceded him in death on March 7, 2018.
He retired as plant manager from Orrville Products.   Walter was a member of the Smithville Brethren Church, the Ruritan Club, Lion ™s Club and was a Boy Scout Master in Smithville.   He was also listed in Who ™s Who of American Technology, was a member of the American Society of Quality Control, served on the United States Congressional Advisory Board and had his own business of making walking canes.
Walter enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his children, Robert (Margaret) Sniff of Marshallville, Linda Lilley of Smithville and Tom (Alyce) Sniff of Pawley ™s Island, SC; grandchildren, Tyler Sniff, Adam Sniff, Jacob Sniff, Rachel Lawrence, Matthew Sniff, Sara Sniff and James Lilley and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Andrew Lilley.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. service on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Smithville Brethren Church, 241 E. Main St., Smithville with the Rev. Art Carr officiating.   Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
