SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – Walter Ray Wooten, 66, departed this life on Monday, December 12, 2016, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX.
He was born on October 19, 1950 in Wooster, OH to the late Frank Andrew Wooten and Mary Virgie Waller Wooten. He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age at Second Baptist Church.
Walter attended public schools in Wooster, Ohio.   As a high school student, he began taking Industrial Arts classes and excelled in automotive repair and mechanics. It soon became a profession and he opened shops in Virginia, Ohio and Texas.
Walter was called œWalt  by some and œMopar  by others, œMopar  because of his Chrysler car labeled with big œMopar  letters.   He attended church services in the area when he was able and always enjoyed helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Andrew Wooten and Mary Virgie Waller Wooten.
Walter is survived by his big brother: Frank J. Wooten (Cynthia) of Columbus, OH; two daughters: Jautina Wiggins of New Orleans, LA and April Neblett Wells (Antonio) of Martinsville, VA; four grandchildren: Jay, Brooke and Shawn, all of New Orleans, LA and Ashton Wells of Martinsville, VA; nephew: Scott Wooten of Columbus, OH; and a host of great grandchildren, cousins and friends, especially the children of his special friends.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 12:00 noon service on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Rickey Brown officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
