WOOSTER “ Wanda Ilene Tracey, 87 of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, October  25, 2016 at Ohio Health MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield.
She was born September 29, 1929 in Ashland, the daughter of Lewis Briner and Evelyn J. Rush Hartsel.   She was raised by Curtis and Sadie Wilhelm and her maternal grandparents, Daniel and Artie Rush.   She married Richard Dean Tracey on October 24, 1948.   He preceded her in death on May 4, 2010.   They had 61 great years together.
Wanda attended Shreve High School and graduated from Wooster High School in 1947.
She taught Sunday school for 15 years at the United Methodist Church of Wooster, she was a girl scout leader as well as a cub scout leader.   Wanda and Rich were members of the original Gnat Boxer square dance group and they also did ballroom dancing.   She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading and jigsaw puzzles.   Her most treasured times were spent with her children and grandchildren.
Wanda is survived by her children, Marcia (Roger) Cooper of Mt. Gilead, Holly (James) Nolan of Powell and Eric (Michele) Tracey of Columbus; grandchildren, Erin (Mathew) Weaston, Cabot Tracey, Brittani Byce, Jessica (Todd) Bryski, Nicole (Tad) Imboden, Chelsie Casagrande, Kyle, Ethan and Corinne Tracey; her great-grandchildren, Averie Byce, Miles  Weaston and Samuel Bryski  and a sister, Oreta (Howard) Wile of Shreve.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Mark Tracey, a daughter-in-law, Teena Tracey, a son-in-law, Robert Casagrande and a sister, Helen Ickes.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parkview Christian Church, 1912 Burbank Rd., Wooster with the Rev. Brian White officiating.   The family will receive friends following the service.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
