WOOSTER – William SMITH, 91, beloved husband of Mary Vogt Beutler for 37 years, slept away quietly on Saturday, February 13, 2010 in the Horn Nursing Home where he had resided for the past 7 years.
Bill was born May 12, 1918 in Pensacola, FL, the son of Raymond and Amy Bell Smith..
He retired as Superintendent of Building Services for the U.S. Post Office in Cincinnati. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of NARFE, St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster, the True American Masonic Lodge and enjoyed travel, church work, golf and bowling.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary, are step-daughters, Mary Beutler of Cincinnati and Sue (Paul) Williams of Wooster, grandchildren of Wooster, Paul Thomas Williams and Megan Mary Williams. Also surviving is a nephew Donald Smith and family of Cincinnati.
There will be a Memorial Service at the Horn Nursing Home at a later date.
Services will be held Thursday, February 18, 2010 in the Chapel at St. Mary Cemetery in Cincinnati at 1:00 P.M.
