WOOSTER – William T DILZELL, 76, of Wooster passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born July 8, 1933 in Orange, NJ, son of Fred Guy and Doris Trigg Dilzell. On September 12, 1957 he married Nancy Davis. She survives.
William had retired from United Airlines as a pilot, and United States Air Force as a Lt. Colonel. He was an avid sports fan and a 32 year member of the Wooster Country Club. He particularly enjoyed the company of his grandkids.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his sons Dean McKinley Dilzell of Lakewood, Cary Trigg Dilzell of Grand Junction, CO and Troy Vincent Dilzell of Edinbourough, England; grandchildren Eric and James Dilzell, Tess and Jack Dilzell and Luke, Daniel and Ellie Dilzell.
William was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Fred and a sister Nancy Lewis.
He was a former resident of Warren, NJ.
There will be no calling hours.
Military services will be conducted by the 555th Honors Detachment at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 11:30 A.M.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Disabled American Veterans.
