WOOSTER – Walter A EGERTON, 83 of Wooster, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 after a period of declining health.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill Street, Wooster, OH, Monday 6-8 P.M..
where Masonic memorial services will be held at 5:30 P.M.
Services will be held at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Tuesday Feb. 19, 2008, 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Kevin Phipps officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Born October 17, 1924 in New Boston, oh.,he was the son of Ellis and Fannie Hicks Egerton and was a graduate of Portsmouth High School. Walter married Loraine Norris on April 15, 1952. She preceded him in death on March 8, 1994. He was a U.S. army veteran of W.W. II A member of the Masonic Lodge in Wheelersburg, Oh, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati. He retired from the State Highway Patrol after 25 years and later retired from Morton Salt in Rittman after 22 years of service. Walter was an avid fan of OSU & Cleveland Browns football and Cleveland Indians Baseball. He is survived by children Karen Carson, Cathy Miller, and Jeff rey Egerton all of Wooster and a special friend & Companion Grace Mabry of Richwood, Oh. He is also survived by grand dogs Pizzazz and Bella Rose. in additoin to his wife he was preceded in death by sisters Thelma Smith and Clotine Keller.
