Douglas D Dilbone, 64, of Columbus, OH, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in Mt. Carmel St. Anne Hospital in Westerville.
He was born October 7, 1944 in Lima, OH, son of Darst and Florence Proffitt Dilbone.
Douglas worked as a Professional Ring Man at Horse and Car Auctions. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Schaffter Dilbone, to whom he had been married 23 years; sister, Joann Griggs of Mendon, OH, brother, Gordon Dilbone of FL; sister-In-Law Carol (Tom) Hardy of Wooster. Doug cherished his niece and nephew, Diana and Dave McMillen and Jeff and Jody Hardy and three great nieces Ella, Allie and Cara; his mother-in-law Edith Schaffter of Wooster.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Harold Dilbone, a sister Marty Griggs and father-in-law Carl Schaffter.
Friends may call from 1:00 pm. to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Memorial Services will be held at McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. C. Ronald Wilson officiating. Private family burial will be held.
