WOOSTER – Donald E. WILHELMY, 84, of Wooster died Thursday, December 4, 2008 at his home.
He was born March 29, 1924 in Elyria, OH, son of Edward and Gertrude Rigglesberger Wilhelmy.
He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church , North Ridgeville, Oh. and had been a brick layer and a commercial construction job supervisor. Donald was an active and avid volunteer for the Church and was an avid sportsman. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII..
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Leona Edwards Wilhelmy, children Diane W. Spetrino of Morristown, NJ, Pamela W. Murphy of Shaker Heights, Gary Wilhelmy of Wooster, Don E. Wilhelmy, Jr. of North Ridgeville, Thomas Wilhelmy of Lorain; 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, brother, Roy Wilhelmy of Sheffield Village, sisters, Edna Barnes and Shirley Fayer of North Ridgeville, Faith Smith and Jane Wise of Elyria.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Janis.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster on Monday, December 8, 2008 from 4-7:00 P.M. and at St. Peters Catholic Church in North Ridgeville one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peters Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, OH 44039-3097 on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Father Doug Koesel as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Peters Cemetery.
