WOOSTER – June I. DiOrio, 83, of Wooster died Saturday, January 3, 2009.
A Mass of Remembrance will be held Friday, January 9, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wooster. There will be no calling hours.
She was born July 7, 1925 in Navarre, Ohio to Bernice and Ray Daily and married Francis Chick DiOrio in 1948.
June was a homemaker until 1960 when she, Chick and her brother-in-law, RB built DiOrio’s Inn on Palmer Street known for its pizza and grinders. After Chick’s death she became a manicurist. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Always willing to share her opinion, June touched the lives of many.
Surviving are a daughter Rita Chewning; granddaughters Regan (Glenn) Meier of Wooster and Jessica (Jonathan) Kline of Craftsburry Commons, Vermont; great-grandchildren Glenn, Basil and Kaj Meier and River Kline; and close friends and neighbors Liz and Stan Ewan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chick and her brothers Tommy and Ray Daily.
