WOOSTER – Earl E. HERSHBERGER, 88, of Wooster passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009 in his home.
He was born January 10, 1921 in Ashland County the son of Roy and Vida Holmes Hershberger.
He had worked in the factory for Crown Steel Fabricators for 36 years retiring in 1984. Prior to that, he had farmed with his father. Earl graduated from Chester School in 1941. He was a member of the Smithville Brethren Church where he worked in the nursery with his wife for over 20 years and was also an usher. He was a member of the Crown Retirees. He enjoyed gardening, yard work and his grandchildren and their activities. Earl also enjoyed refinishing furniture and traveling with his wife.
Surviving are wife, Helen Mast Hershberger, whom he married December 31, 1948, daughters, Judy (Dan) Hostettler and Connie (Paul) Engman both of Wooster, grandchildren Matt (Julie) Hostettler, A. Beth Hostettler, Adam Hostettler, Joel (Emily) Engman and Josh Engman all of Wooster, great-granddaughter Kylie Hostettler.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and 2 sisters..
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Friday evening from 6-8:00 PM. and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral Services will be held at Smithville Brethren Church, Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Art Carr officiating. Interment will follow in the Smithville Cemetery.
