Eugene R. (Nick) Schellin, 90 of Wooster died Friday, May 1, 2009 after a short illness.
He was born September 21, 1918 in Warren, Ohio to Frank C and Eva (Manthey) Schellin.
He resided in Wooster for 70 years and retired from The Akron Brass Co. in 1983 after 45 years, where he was the Vice President of Sales. He had previously worked at Wooster Brass. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Frances A. (Beatty) Schellin in 2005, brothers Ed and Frank Schellin, and sisters, Edith Kline, Ethel Richwine and Eva Coblentz.
He is survived by daughter, Barbara Jackson of Wooster, granddaughter and grand son-in-law Jennifer J. and Thomas D. Kirkpatrick, Jr.; great granddaughter Kathryn A. Kirkpatrick; great grandson Alexander D. Kirkpatrick; step granddaughters Debra (Robin) Buckmaster and Tammy Heather and a sister Esther Carnahan of Wooster.
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed working in his yard and was a life member of the Elks.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 5 2009 at 2 pm at McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Chaplain Bob Grover officiating. Entombment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 4 from 6-8pm with the Elks service starting at 5:30 pm at the funeral home.
