Nicholas John MARCOVECHIO, 96, of Rittman, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 in the Baptist Beach Hospital in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
He was born February 26, 1914 in Canton, son of Ralph and Antoinette DiGiacomo Marcovechio.
He retired in 1976 after 28 years in Plant Security from Packaging Corp. of America in Rittman. He was a member of the Grace Brethren Church in Rittman. Served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII with the 37th Division of Ohio, 140th Field Artillery Batallion receiving 3 bronze stars.
Surviving are daughter, Rebecca June (Kenneth) Easterday of Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren, Kerri (Christopher) Slayton of Orrville and Kristen (Richard) Shook of Pocatello, Idaho; great-grandchildren, Kylee and Makayla Shook and Katy and Nicholas Slayton and a brother, John P Marcovechio of Ocala, FL.
Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 66 years, Mildred Mae Bauman Marcovechio, on November 17, 2007; brothers, Frank & Dominic Gianotto and a sister, Rose Massaro.
There will be no calling hours..
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 19, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Rittman Cemetery with the Rev. Bud Olszewski officiating.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, is assisting the family with arrangements.
