SMITHVILLE – James Louis SHELLER, 82, of Smithville, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in the Wayne Co. Care Center.
He was born September 23, 1927 in Wayne Co., the son of Carl and Gail Gilbert Sheller.
He graduated from Smithville High School and was a meat cutter, had owned Sheller Meats in Smithville and had worked for Holmes By Products in Trail, Ohio. He had a cabin on Middle Bass Island for 53 years where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and boating. He was a member of the Wooster Moose and the Elks in Wooster.
Surviving are wife, Vivian R Singer Sheller, whom he married August 9, 1947; his daughter, Nicki (Dwight) Campbell of Wooster, grandchildren, Jennifer Campbell of Wooster and Stephanie (Jim) Reed of Smithville; great-grandchildren, Tawni L. Summers, Tori R. Campbell, Morgan P. Reed and Noah J. Reed; half brothers and sisters, Sam Sheller of Orrville, Carl Sheller and Mandy Spencer both of Smithville and Jill Phipps of Fredericksburg.
James was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marjorie Vore and a half sister Carol Sheller.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, on Friday, June 18, 2010 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dan Wingate officiating. Interment will follow in the Smithville Cemetery.
