WOOSTER — Dorothy J. Smith, 87, of Wooster, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Smithville Western Care Center.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Alan E. Nathan officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.She was born June 21, 1923, in Wayne County, the daughter of Roscoe and Aetna Young. On June 25, 1944, she married Harold Smith who preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2007.Dorothy worked in the cafeteria for Wooster City Schools before retiring in the late 70s. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was an avid gardener, and enjoyed cooking, traveling with her husband and spending time with her family whom she was devoted to.Surviving are her children, Les (Maureen) Smith of Lexington, Ky., and Stan Smith of Milwaukee, Wis.; grandchildren, Erica (Tony) Rosa, Janell Lukac, Maggie (Ghasson) Tawil, and Kelly (Donald) Jenkins; and a great-grandchild, Samantha Rosa.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Jo Lukac; and her siblings, Ray Young, Gladys Swarm, Wava Johnson, and Don Young.
