WOOSTER – Rudolph E Rudy MORETTI, 93, of Wooster, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 in his home.
He was born January 3, 1917 in Wooster, the son of Arcangelo and Rosina DiScipio Moretti.
He had been a carpenter at the OARDC and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Rudy was a member of the Lamplighters Club. He loved dancing to big band music and loved sports, especially playing for the Harris Paints Bantams. He served his country during WW II with the U.S. Army..
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Alice Coccia Moretti; his siblings, Raymond (Bobbi) Moretti of Cuyahoga Falls, Florence (Raymond) Rose, Julia Grosjean and Lillian Massaro all of Wooster and Dorothy (James) Blough of St. Cloud, FL and many loving nieces and nephews and all who called him Uncle Rudy.
Rudolph was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, L. Jean Culbertson, Vilma Maicovevchio, Mary Rose, Elsie Cosentino, Cecelia DeCaro and a brother, Donald Moretti.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Moran as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the doctors and Hospice & Palliative Care who cared for him.
